NOTD: The cherry on top

This week was a busy week and I just couldn't find the time to put on this nail art. I had chosen it between the dozens of nail arts I have collected in my pinterest inspiration board and it just kept on floating around my thoughts during the week. When on Wednesday I had a drink with a friend and nail art addict, who BTW made me change from plain nail colours to nail art, and she made me want to put this nail art on my nails at that very moment. Because it was late and I had the morning off the next day, I decided to make it as soon as I woke up. And as a result I am now wearing cherries on my nails since Thursday morning :D

I used these nail lacquers and dotting pen:

I started out by painting my nails white with a wonderful white nail lacquer from Catrice. Most of my white nail polishes tend to need ten layers to cover my nail completely. But this one gives good coverage in one layer, and only sometimes needs a second layer. Why, oh why, didn't I buy ten of these? :(
Then I used a nail pencil to draw the pink lines. This pink is btw the first Catrice polish I ever bought. I had this idea to start painting my nails again on a regular basis two or three years ago, and when I saw this cute, perfectly pink nail polish I had to take it. And when I had taken it, I saw the name and I knew that that nail lacquer had to be mine :p And it still is and I still love it extremely much :d
Then I started making the cherries. First I placed two dots with my dotting pen, (shoplog about that dotting pen here!) and then I drew the two twigs.
Pity I'm not ambidextrous, because my right hand is a small disaster, but I'm still incredibly proud to have succeeded in making this nail art. I feel as if I'm trying to make more special things, not just some plain colour with maybe some glitters added or something. Right now I'm so amazed with myself, feeling like the cherry on top, the pick of the peck, the crème de la crop. (Yes, I'm quoting Katy Perry here, I feel as strong as she looks like right now. Or sort of.) Hope next week my nail art will be as much fun as this one :D

What do you think about the nail art? :D
