Shoplog: Forever21, Kruidvat and New Look

Last week I went to Antwerp to sign my internship contract, which of course asked for a small shopping celebration! :D I didn't buy that much in the end, which is of course is a good thing considering the presents I had to buy for Christmas, but still... I was a tad bit disappointed, especially in Forever21. When I came home that weekend I learned that I had received a package from Asos. Luckily Asos never lets me down.

These boots are made for walking (shoplog)

Some weeks ago, when the cold hit Belgium a bit and I felt like my Converse sneakers would not keep me safe from the lowering temperatures, I decided to shop some new boots. I own several pairs of boots, but they all have a heel and since my knee still hasn't healed completely I had to buy boots without heels. I must say I succeeded quite well.

Baby blue hues

This Autumn I got this want for baby blue everything. My most wanted piece is still a baby blue coat, but for now I have to be happy with a beanie and a scarf. Oh and a baby blue Instax, but I already bought that one in Summer so that doesn't really count.

Let me try to convince you why you should wear baby blue pieces this Autumn/Winter.

Pull&Bear Faux Fur Jacket ASOS Beanie With Pearl Veil  Pull&Bear Scuba Skirt
Girls On Film Petite Short Sleeve Lace Crop Top ASOS Jacket With Rounded Shoulder And Borg Collar ASOS RISKY BUSINESS Ankle Boots

ASOS Leather Look Biker Jacket with Structured Shoulder River Island Box Pleat Satin Midi River Island Marabou Beanie Hat

Yep, I'm completely convinced baby blue is the perfect Autumn/Winter colour! :D

OOTD: Coat weather

The best part of the weather getting colder must be that I can wear my favourite coat again. I've bought him two Winters ago with a friend in Antwerp. She pointed the black version of this New Look coat out to me, because I had told her I was looking for a new coat with a hood. But the moment I saw the blue version I was in love.

NOTD: floral, stripes and triangles

Mixing and matching is something I always tend to do in my nail arts. Matching colours, mixing print with plain, mixing studs with colours, ... Somethimes it works perfectly, other times it's just... meh. I don't like floral prints to fill all of my nails: just like plain colours, this looks boring to me. Yeah, that does sound weird, but I just need to mix it with something else. a stripe of colour usually does the trick, but this time I wanted to make it something extra by putting some triangle shapes in the nail art too.

Shoplog: Bershka, H&M, Pimkie + ASOS

In between two classes me and two friends decided to go shopping instead of just doing nothing. I got really excited and FINALLY bought some Autumn stuff. Thanks to the colder weather I'm finally in a Autumn mood, even though I wished the warmer temperatures would keep on a little longer. But thanks to my fantastic new goodies I'm ready to defy the colder temperatures!

NOTD: Glitter Gradient

A while ago I bought this gradient topcoat from Catrice. It serves as a coloured topcoat which you can put on any bright nail polish you want and then it will make your base coat a tint darker. Sounds really cool, right?! I've tried to make a gradient across my hand before, but I never had the right polishes that would do the trick. But now that problem is solved! :D

This is how the base colour (mixed with some glitter) looks like compared to the darkest 'gradiented' nail.

OOTD: An apparent Turtleneck

I finally gave in to a turtleneck. I always thought turtlenecks to be boring and stupid, but my opinion about them have definitely changed by buying one! Even though when buying one, I didn't quite realise I was buying one...

NOTD: Striped gradient

It's been a while, but I'm back doing my beloved nail arts! It's been so incredibly busy during the holidays and now that school has started three weeks ago I haven't had time to paint them. This time I used my blue Kiko colours I bought in Paris, a new Essie colour, a white nail art pen from Barry M, some striping tape and some regular tape.

OOTD: A Walk in the Woods

As much as I love living in a city during the week, I also love to go back home to the nice and quiet of the country side. At least once a year the boy and I will go take a walk in the woods, mostly in autumn. It’s just so relaxing to walk around without hearing anyone speak, except when we are talking to each other of course. Last weekend was the perfect weekend to take a walk in the woods: it wasn’t raining and it hadn’t rained that much the days before so it wouldn’t be too muddy.

OOTD x3: Boa Lisboa

In the second week of September I went to Lisbon! Even though I wasn't that fond of the city, the boy and me had a wonderful time. :D Here are my OOTD's of the citytrip.

OOTD: Finally a kimono!

Ever since the kimono became more popular, I wanted one. Especially in summer this piece is so functional: whenever it is too hot to wear a cardigan or a blazer, but too cold to walk around in bare shoulders, simply put on a kimono! :D Yep, I was convinced of this trend from the start, buth as it goes with trends, I only buy them when I'm truly, 100% convinced of the piece. This turned out to be quite a difficult point for me because it took me almost a year since I first saw a kimono to actually buy one.

NOTD: gradient and studs

It's been aaaages since I last painted my nails! Since July I didn't have time to do my nails because of the exams or didn't have the motivation, but now I finally made them special again! :D

Shoplog: Antwerp!

A friend of mine and I have this tradition to go shopping after each exam period. We couldn't combine to go last June, but could now so we went to Antwerp, YAY. :D I bought some clothing at Forever21 (duh!), Pull&Bear and Pimkie and something at Lush too (more or less duh!).

Let's start with the piece I'm most excited about, a vest from Pull & Bear.

Parisian shoplog

Being three days in Paris of course also asks for some shopping time. I had made a wish list and in the end I succeeded in buying or visiting every item or shop I wanted to! :D Since the friend I went visiting knew the city very well I only had to give her the addresses of the shops and she planned when we would go where. This way we passed the shopping street and the shop I wanted to go most on the first day. Most damage was thus done on that first day. :p

OOTD: Three days in Paris

A friend of mine is working as an au pair in Paris and had invited me and a common friend of us to stay some time with her while her au pair family were on holidays. Since I finished exceptionally early with the retakes of my exams I could go! We spent three days together and we mixed  culture, a lot of food and of course excellent company: perfect combination for a perfect city trip! Since we were more on a visit to a friend instead of a visit to a city I didn't take that much pictures, besides those with my friends, but I do have pictures from my outfits. :D

OOTD: Studying in Levi's

Pants are the least favourite item to shop to me. Simply because they are so annoying to fit. I lose my balance like extremely quickly, and fitting pants in a tiny fitting room while losing your balance is no fun at all. So when I decided the time was right for me to go actively on the hunt for a high waist jeans, I needed some time to prepare myself. But mission accomplished! I bought a gorgeous Levi's pants with which I can finally wear my crop tops! :D I also have a high waist shorts, but haven't been able to wear that one in Belgium yet. And Belgian summer is quite over, methinks... BUT thanks to my high waist Levi's I can still wear my crop tops! :D

NOTD: gradient and tape

To get nail art inspiration I mostly browse Pinterest. I've tried to reproduce some examples, but every time they turned out to be not exactly what I had in mind, i.e. the source of inspiration. After several of those fails, I decided to use that inspiration in a different way: using bits and pieces of several sources to make my own piece of inspiration. Or well, that is always what I try to do. :p Problem with taking bits and pieces to make your own piece is that it is hard to find the source back. Feel free to take a look at my nail art inspiration board at Pinterest to guess which nail arts might have inspired me to make this nail art. (;

OOTD: Bruges with my new bag

When I first saw this ASOS bag, I immediately fell in love with it. However, the price tag attached to it kept me from buying it. 35 euro for a bag might not seem much money for some people, but to me it was a little bit too much. I also deleted it from my saved list, because I knew I was gonna buy it otherwise! :p But then the ASOS sales arrived... Guess I don't need to explain what happened next. :D

OOTD: The trench

I have always loved trench coats. They are so stylish and perfect for the in-between seasons. Since yesterday was a rather cold and un-summery day (today was even worse: wind and rain all day. Hellooo Belgian summer!), I decided to pair my outfit with my trench instead of with my standard blazer.

NOTD: Bora Brasil!

In half an hour Brazil will play the quarter-final against Colombia and I'm extremely excited! I've spent a year in Brazil five years ago and ever since I'm in love with the country. When I saw nail stickers with the Brazilian flag on on eBay I just had to buy them. :D

My other nails are painted as the colours of the flag: green - yellow - blue - yellow - green. :D

Who else is watching the game tonight? :D

Self-rewarding during exams (shoplog)

I'm back! Exams are over! Yayyyy! :D Wednesday at 3:30 I finished the last exam of this semester and afterwards I went eating some delicious cake with some friends and ate and drank something with some other friends. I've had to miss them for so long, I just had to meet all of them that day! :p Yesterday then I've done some cleaning in my apartment because I'm never that tidy, so during the exams I tend to be extremely untidy. And ever since then I stayed kind of lazy. Seems like all of my laziness got heaped up in my body during the exams and now is released. :p But I've overcome the laziness because right now I'll show you the things I've bought when self-rewarding for my hard studying. :D

Shoplog & blog pause

As a real fashionista I become happy when I buy things. During the exams this happiness is multiplied with 100. Yesterday I had my first one, classic mythology, an awesome class with an awesome professor and awesome literature! :D I just wish all of my classes were as fun and interesting as that one! I left the room with a rather okay feeling about the exam, but still I couldn't resist the urge to buy something to get rid of all the stress. I'd had my eye on some lovely pieces for a while now, so yesterday sounded like a wonderful day to press that 'proceed to checkout' button. :D Here is what I've bought:

NOTD: Filled neon triangle

I finally found some time to do another manicure. As you could read in my last blog post I finally finished my bachelor paper, so I rewarded myself with a new nail art. Since I haven't used any neon nail polish ever, I really wanted to use one for this NOTD. I chose this gorgeous pink polish by L'Apogee, a polish which was a present from a Brazilian friend last summer. ^^

New skirt with cool message :D

Exam period is the worst period regarding my bank account. I simply become happy when buying something pretty and I become euphoric when I buy something pretty in the exam period. Last week I wasn't studying yet since I had to hand in my 10.000 words long paper yesterday and I worked the last three weeks non-stop on it. It's handed in now, so I'm kind of relieved and I hooooope it's been worth the stress! :D Sooooo when last week I was doing some virtual window shopping I stumbled across this skirt:

New palm tree printed shoes

Two weeks ago I spent an afternoon with some friends from school before going to class. (Be prepared, this is gonna be a long story, LOL!) We had lunch together and then wanted some delicious cupcakes, but unfortunately that cupcake shop was closed that day. So we ended up in a "pancake house" nearby the Sacha shop. After being filled with delicious pancakes, we decided to do a little shopping because we had some spare time and that's when Sacha comes in. I saw a pair of awesome sneakers, but because I had already asked the shopkeeper two pairs of shoes in my size and my friends were not that interested in the shop, I decided to return another time. Two days later I got a mail from the Sacha shop saying I got a 20% discount on their webshop. My first thought? THIS IS A SIGN! Of course I immediately bought them and last week this arrived in the mail.

OOTD: I've got the blues

Yesterday I was wearing my new Bershka top, which you could already see here. I haven't regret buying it because it's so easy to pair and the colour is just amazing! :D I've work it several times since buying it, and this was how I wore it yesterday.

Playsuit loves

Lately I've been going crazy about playsuits. They're just so easy and fun, especially in Summer, or last Monday, when the thermometer pointed 20 degrees and I could sit outside in the sun reading stuff for school. I am SO looking forward to Summer and the holidays! :D
For now I'll be dreaming about fun playsuits and deciding which I could buy for this Summer. Let's have a look at my faves at this moment! :D

New: Six & Bershka

Tuesday I had a lovely afternoon with some friends from school. I showed them a delicious new eating spot (Potatolicious, a.k.a. a potato, sauce of choice (bacon-honey-mustard ftw!) topped with three sorts of vegetables) and afterwards we went to a "pancake-house" with extremely delicious pancakes! :D In between moving from one spot to another we passed the shopping street and I couldn't hold myself because it had been too long I had set foot in a shop. I came home with two tops and one accessory, and this is the accessory which I bought at Six:

NOTD: Stamped Aztec

I've finally used the new stamping plates I bought on eBay I told you a while ago. I also told you I had no idea why I had bought them because the result is never that good. I might want to change my opinion about that.

Update: Dreams

We're the first of the month again, so I'm gonna update you on my dreams. I'm a little more motivated for them since a month ago, but I think I'm gonna change the theme of my dreams again. Let's first give you an update on my monthly dreams and then I'll explain.

OOTD: That blazer, again

Two outfit posts in a row in which I'm wearing a similar piece, that must mean I love wearing it. You might have noticed it before with my blue Primark shoes with white dots, which I wore non-stop for four weeks or something. And now it's with this blazer:
Clothes & Dreams: OOTD: That blazer, again: outfit of the day with H&M single buttoned blazer

It actually is a simple dark blue blazer, single buttoned, from H&M. I love it for its simplicity and for the various ways I can wear it. Underneath the blazer I was wearing a denim on denim look and while both denims are of the same colour, thanks to the blazer there's sort of a contrast.

OOTD: Searching for blossoms

Two weeks ago I walked the ground behind my house and I noticed the trees that stood there were in full bloom. Unfortunately there was nobody home to take a picture of me with them, so I decided to come back the week after that to take pictures hoping the blossoms wouldn't have disappeared by then. Of course I forgot and when I came back there this weekend the blossoms were already gone. Nevertheless we took some pictures of my outfit with the not-so-much-in-bloom tree. :p

Tutorial: How to take off nail polish with cotton balls

Today I want to show you how you can take off nail polish without damaging your nails by rubbing it with toilet paper (as I used to do). I've got this hint from a friend of mine who found it on the internet one day and she passed her discovery on to me because she knew how much I adore painting my nails. This method is incredibly easy and all you need is this:
