What's in my bag?

Confession: I'm not a bag person. Up until last year I had one bag to use for work, one bag for meeting friends and one small bag to go out with. Then I found a satchel and a shopper bag I liked a lot, so now I have five bags I use on a regular basis. Whichever bag I'm using, there are some things you can almost always find in them.

Cocoa Butter lip care stick

Whether it's summer or winter I always have a lip balm in my bag. Because of my eczema I have to keep my lips moisturised, and this The Body Shop lip balm with cocoa is a godsend! Some years ago they were temporarily out of the collection, so when they came back I bought three or four of them and since then I keep them everywhere; in my bag, on my nightstand, in the bathroomโ€ฆ Can't live without them anymore!๐Ÿ’•

Lens case

Since I wear lenses I always keep a lens case with me; you never know what might happen! I once had an unexpected sleepover because of a multiple day train strike so I was super happy I didn't have to worry about where I would have to store my lenses that night and I could focus on finding underwear and new clothes for the following days instead. Oh, and that one time in high school I  laughed so hard one of my lenses fell out.๐Ÿ˜„ Yep, those lens cases have helped me out a few times already!

Bershka wallet

My wallet used to be suuuuper thick, but ever since I discovered Stocard I can keep many loyalty cards on my phone instead of physically in my wallet, significantly reducing the size of my wallet. It remains quite thick and heavy, so whenever I use a smaller bag to go out, I put a lot of things in a smaller wallet instead. I got this one from Bershka a few years ago because my other one was broken and it's still going strong, yay!

My phone

Quite an obvious one, especially if you read my blog post about my favourite apps. I can't imagine leaving the house without it. Last weekend we went to a museum and I put my bag and everything in a locker and without it I felt soโ€ฆ weird. I really should do this more often, as an addition to my monthly social media detox because I think it's good to feel less dependant on it every once in a while.

Lost jewelry

Whenever I wear rings to work I tend to get tired of them after a few hours, so I put them in my bag and (most of the times) forget to get them out of it in the evening. It's not unusual for me to grab something in my bag and find a semi-lost ring floating around in it. Makes life full of surprises, right? Right? ๐Ÿ˜…

Something to read

Whether I have a book in a flipback format or an e-book on my phone, I always have something to read with me. I have an hour-long break during lunch so whenever the weather is good I tend to sit on a bench close to the water and read for 20 minutes or something. And if I'm not in the mood to read I just go walking instead. I simply can no longer imagine to stay inside during every lunch break!

Notebooks and agenda

I always have lists around, as you could read in my current wish list. I've tried putting my reminders and to dos in my phone (or at work on my computer), but this simply never worked for me. I just really need to write things down, whether in a notebook, a bullet journal or in my agenda.

Sometimes I wonder why my bags weights so much, but writing out this blog post actually made a lot clear! ๐Ÿ˜… They really are my essentials though, so imagine what else is in my bag. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Do you also carry this much in your bag or do you try to keep it limited?
